The first rap or hip-hop artist who created the "answering machine" album segue was unique. The first time I heard an message left by another rapper ("yo yo, nappy cat this is tha D gimme a shout-peace outtie") it was kinda neat. But it's been done to death. Now we have Tammy Faye Baker leaving a message for Vanilla Ice! My lord. Can I get a street style beat down here pu-leeeeeeze? And don't get me started on anything produced by Sean Combs/P. Diddy/Puff Daddy--there is more "between song" crap than songs on an average album from this set....c'mon y'all, let make music here.
