Summertime in the U.S. means outdoor festival type events. This past weekend wifey, myself, and a buddy went off to a local barbecue festival that included some outdoor concerts. Admission was free, but this event was one of those "exchange money for tickets" to pay for overpriced beer (Miller Lite 12oz = $7, etc.). No matter what happens these systems are set up so there are always tickets left over. You buy tickets in multiples of 5 and then everything is sold in multiples of six. This is utterly maddening--in addition to gouging you on prices for the food and drinks for sale, they use odd math multiples to effectively cost you more! The ex-Mensa scholar who set this up deserves repeated eyeball papercuts from my leftover Monopoly money tickets.
